Keeping in mind the induction of women, the NDA has made changes in its infrastructure by creating separate enclosures, cabins, additional washrooms among others in prefab shelters. A woman officer and woman doctor will also be deployed there.

Squadron(Hostel)

In the next three years, a separate squadron(hostel) for Woman Cadets will be created. The squadron will comprise 110-120 cadets. So far, the NDA has 18 squadrons and 19th would come into force after three years. Women Cadets’ squadron would be named as “Sierra Squadron”.

The existing physical training and drill instructors will be trained at OTA Chennai as per the training standards required for the Woman Cadets. The training for Woman Cadets will be at par with their men counterparts but that would be a little different. It is expected that they will be welcomed with the same sense of fair play and professionalism as men cadets. Induction of women will empower them and at least 40 years later, they could be heading their respective Services as Chiefs.
